Description

This Baked Broccoli Mac and Cheese offers an irresistible combination of creamy cheese and vibrant broccoli, making it a comforting and nutritious meal loved by all. Perfect for quick dinners or family gatherings!


Ingredients

  • Macaroni (16 oz)
  • Broccoli (1 large head, chopped)
  • Butter (3 tbsp + 1 tbsp for topping)
  • Flour (3 tbsp)
  • Whole Milk (2¼ cups)
  • Mature Cheddar (12 oz, grated)
  • Salt
  • Panko Breadcrumbs (½ cup)
  • Garlic Powder (1 tsp)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Boil salted water and cook macaroni until al dente; add chopped broccoli last 5 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
  • In a saucepan, melt 3 tbsp butter, whisk in flour until golden, add milk, and cook until thick; stir in cheese and season with salt.
  • Mix butter, panko, and garlic powder. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni and broccoli in a baking dish, top with breadcrumb mixture.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Substitute cauliflower for broccoli if desired.
Use gluten-free pasta for a suitable alternative.
