Ingredients
- Macaroni (16 oz)
- Broccoli (1 large head, chopped)
- Butter (3 tbsp + 1 tbsp for topping)
- Flour (3 tbsp)
- Whole Milk (2¼ cups)
- Mature Cheddar (12 oz, grated)
- Salt
- Panko Breadcrumbs (½ cup)
- Garlic Powder (1 tsp)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Boil salted water and cook macaroni until al dente; add chopped broccoli last 5 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
- In a saucepan, melt 3 tbsp butter, whisk in flour until golden, add milk, and cook until thick; stir in cheese and season with salt.
- Mix butter, panko, and garlic powder. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni and broccoli in a baking dish, top with breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbling.
