Description

This Brioche French Toast offers a delightful blend of flavors, featuring soft brioche dipped in a creamy custard, ideal for breakfast or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Brioche (1 loaf, about 14–16 ounces/400–450g)
  • Large Eggs (4)
  • Whole Milk (1 cup or 240ml)
  • Maple Syrup (1 tablespoon)
  • Pure Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Ground Cinnamon (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)
  • Unsalted Butter (1–2 tablespoons)
  • Toppings: cinnamon butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, fresh berries, berry sauces

Instructions

  • Slice the Brioche into 1-inch-thick pieces.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture for 5 to 10 seconds on each side.
  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium-low heat; cook bread slices for 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Transfer cooked slices to a warm oven to keep warm until serving.
  • Serve with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Use slightly stale brioche for best absorption of custard without sogginess.
Room temperature ingredients yield smoother custard and better blending.
Watch cooking temperature to prevent burning while ensuring doneness.
