- 3 lb chicken wings, wings and drummettes split, wingtips removed
- 1 tbsp baking powder, (use aluminum free)
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup franks original red hot sauce
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar, or brown sugar
Instructions
- Dry the chicken wings thoroughly with a paper towel.
- Preheat the oven to 450ËšF and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, placing a wire rack over the pan.
- Mix the baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture over the chicken wings and toss to ensure they are coated properly.
- Arrange the chicken on the wire rack and bake for 25 minutes. Flip the wings and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until they are crisp and cooked through.
- While the wings are baking, melt the butter and mix it with the hot sauce and sugar in a medium-sized bowl.
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken wings to the bowl and drizzle the sauce over them. Toss to ensure each wing is well-coated in the sauce.
Notes
Ensure wings are patted dry to achieve maximum crispiness.
