Description

These Christmas Snowball Cookies are a buttery delight, perfect for holiday gatherings. With a simple prep and nutty flavor, they melt in your mouth, making them an ideal sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Optional additional powdered sugar or cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour and chopped nuts before gradually combining with the butter mixture to form soft dough.
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet, spaced apart.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are barely golden; avoid overbaking for soft cookies.
  • Cool for a few minutes, then roll in powdered sugar before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil.
To make gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend instead of all-purpose flour.
Ensure butter is at room temperature for the best mixing.
