- 1 cup Butter
- 8 oz Dark Chocolate
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 2–3 tbsp Milk/Cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and dark chocolate in a medium bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- Whisk in granulated sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Pour batter into baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until set and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool brownies for 15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whip softened butter in a large bowl until fluffy, then mix in powdered sugar and cocoa until smooth.
- Pipe chocolate buttercream on cooled brownies to create festive tree shapes and add decorations.
Notes
Store brownies at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
For a vegan option, substitute eggs with flax or chia eggs.
Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
