Description

These Classic Shortbread Cookies are easy to make, featuring a buttery flavor and crumbly texture that melts in your mouth, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and flour in a mixer; mix until crumbly.
  • Shape dough into a ball, roll between parchment paper to 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick, and cut into shapes.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden; tops should remain pale.
  • Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier blending.
Refrigerate the dough for 15-30 minutes if it’s too soft before rolling.
Consider adding a pinch of salt to enhance the sweetness.
