Description

This Easy Croissant Breakfast Casserole is a delightful mix of buttery croissants, savory sausage, and creamy cheese, perfect for a cozy family breakfast or brunch gathering.


Ingredients

  • Croissants (8 to 10 full-size)
  • Hot Ground Pork Sausage (1 pound)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese (2 cups)
  • Large Eggs (6)
  • Half and Half Milk (1 ½ cups)
  • Dijon Mustard (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Green Onions (6, sliced; divided)
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • Pure Maple Syrup (¼ cup)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the hot ground pork sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned; drain excess grease.
  • Cut croissants into bite-sized pieces while the sausage cools.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, Dijon mustard, and salt.
  • Fold croissant pieces and cooked sausage into the custard mixture.
  • Transfer mixture to greased baking dish, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and green onions.
  • Bake for 45 minutes until golden and center is set.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes, slice, and serve warm with pure maple syrup.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, buttery croissants.
You can substitute sausage with turkey sausage or veggie crumbles.
Prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate overnight.
