Description
Grinch Oreos are a festive, fun treat made with red velvet cookies dipped in light green candy melts for an irresistible flavor. This easy recipe is perfect for parties or holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
- light green candy melts – 10 ounces
- red velvet oreos – 12.2 ounces
- red heart sprinkles – 24 pieces
- dark green sanding sugar – 1 tablespoon (optional)
Instructions
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Reserve ½ cup of light green candy melt pieces for later.
- Melt the remaining candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Alternatively, use the microwave in 30-second bursts.
- Dip each Red Velvet Oreo into the melted candy using a fork. Lift it and tap the edge of the bowl to remove excess coating.
- Place the dipped cookies on the prepared trays and repeat with the rest.
- Put the reserved ½ cup of candy melts in a microwave-safe piping bag. Melt at low power, massaging the bag every minute.
- Snip a small piece off the tip of the piping bag and drizzle the melted candy over the dipped Oreos in a zig-zag pattern.
- Immediately add a red heart sprinkle and optional green sanding sugar to each cookie.
- Let the chocolate set completely at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
Notes
You can use white candy melts instead for a different look.
Feel free to experiment with different sprinkles based on your preferences.
Store completed Oreos in an airtight container at room temperature.
