- 1 cup dark brown sugar (225 grams)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (227 grams)
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- Toppings: chopped pecans, colorful sprinkles, or flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a jelly roll-sized sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Arrange the pretzel snaps in rows on the prepared sheet pan.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, unsalted butter, and sea salt. Heat until melted, stirring frequently.
- Bring mixture to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly until amber colored.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and pour caramel over pretzel snaps, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes until caramel is bubbling at 300°F-310°F.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let sit to melt, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Top with chosen toppings, cool at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
