Description

This Slow Cooker Pastrami is packed with irresistible flavor and requires minimal prep time. Made with tender corned beef and delicious spices, it’s the perfect dish for a quick and satisfying dinner. Enjoy this homemade comfort food with marble rye, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut!


Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. corned beef, i use flat cut
  • spice packet that comes with the corned beef
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled, but left whole
  • 12 oz. beer
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp. hickory liquid smoke
  • marble rye
  • thousand island dressing
  • swiss cheese
  • sauerkraut

Instructions

  1. Rinse the corned beef thoroughly to remove excess salt.
  2. Place the corned beef in the slow cooker.
  3. Sprinkle the spice packet, onion powder, brown sugar, and black pepper over the corned beef. Add the garlic cloves.
  4. Pour in the beer, water, and hickory liquid smoke.
  5. Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours until tender.
  6. Remove the corned beef to a cutting board, let it rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice and serve!

Notes

For extra flavor, allow the corned beef to marinate overnight before cooking.
Serving with marble rye and Swiss cheese makes for a delicious sandwich!
