Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  • Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in egg, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture; do not overmix.
  • Chill dough in two discs for at least an hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets.
  • Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutters.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden; cool on a wire rack after.
  • Prepare frosting by beating butter, mixing in powdered sugar and milk.
