Ingredients
- Whole Water Chestnuts (1 can, approx. 225 g)
- Center Cut Bacon (1 package, approx. 340 g)
- Ketchup (240 ml)
- Brown Sugar (200 g, packed)
- Worcestershire Sauce (15 ml)
- Toothpicks
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and drain the water chestnuts.
- Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap each piece around a water chestnut, securing with a toothpick.
- Place the wrapped chestnuts on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
- In the meantime, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves.
- After 25 minutes, coat each bacon-wrapped chestnut with the sauce and return to the oven for another 25 minutes.
- Once cooked, transfer to a serving platter and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes to regain crispness.
Consider fresh water chestnuts for added crunch, but they require more preparation.
